Brunswick Business Incubator

In operation since 2002, the BBI is a not-for-profit organisation that is jointly funded under the Commonwealth Government's AusIndustry Small Business Incubator Program, the Moreland City Council and the Victorian Government.

Just a short walk from Brunswick Station in Victoria Street, the BBI offers the following services:

  • Physical Tenancy - office spaces which range from 15sq metres through to 100sq metres in size
  • Virtual Tenancy
  • Hire of Meeting Rooms
  • Training Programs and Workshops
  • Business advice and mentoring services

Housed inside the BBI are 52 small businesses that occupy 60 office spaces and support around 130 employees.

Being located in the BBI can provide businesses with a range of benefits. Tenants have affordable office space, an excellent central Brunswick location, professional reception services, access to meeting rooms and use of basic office equipment such as photocopiers and audio visual services. The rental charges are significantly cheaper than commercial office space, and businesses from all sectors are welcomed. Tenants don't have to sign a commercial lease and only have to give a month's notice to exit.

The aim of the incubator is for tenant businesses to become commercially viable so that within their allocated 3 year timeframe, they can relocate to commercial accommodation.
The BBI fosters a culture of entrepreneurship and provides opportunities for businesses to refer clients to one another and to participate in a variety of learning and networking activities. Regular seminars and workshops are held on a variety of small business related topics and these are open to all Moreland Businesses.
